The team made one major trade over the summer sending C Erick Dampier, G Matt Caroll and F Eduardo Najera to the Charlotte Bobcats in exchange for C Tyson Chandler and F/C Alexis Ajinca.

In the draft, the team selected SG Dominique Jones in the first round (25th overall selection) and C Solomon Alabi with their 2nd round pick (50th overall). Alabi was immediately traded to the Toronto Raptors for a future 2nd round pick and cash considerations.
